- HENRY THE SIXTH PART 3
-
- Act 5 Scene 3
-
- (Flourish. Enter King Edward in triumph, with Richard Duke of Gloucester,
- George Duke of Clarence, and soldiers)
- l1l King Edward Thus far our fortune keeps an upward course,
- l2l And we are graced with wreaths of victory.
- l3l But in the midst of this bright-shining day
- l4l I spy a black suspicious threatening cloud
- l5l That will encounter with our glorious sun
- l6l Ere he attain his easeful western bed.
- l7l I mean, my lords, those powers that the Queen
- l8l Hath raised in Gallia have arrived our coast,
- l9l And, as we hear, march on to fight with us.
- l10l George Of Clarence A little gale will soon disperse that cloud,
- l11l And blow it to the source from whence it came.
- l12l Thy very beams will dry those vapours up,
- l13l For every cloud engenders not a storm.
- l14l Richard Of Gloucester The Queen is valued thirty thousand strong,
- l15l And Somerset, with Oxford, fled to her.
- l16l If she have time to breathe, be well assured,
- l17l Her faction will be full as strong as ours.
- l18l King Edward We are advertised by our loving friends
- l19l That they do hold their course toward Tewkesbury.
- l20l We, having now the best at Barnet field,
- l21l Will thither straight, for willingness rids wayù
- l22l And, as we march, our strength will be augmented
- l23l In every county as we go along.
- l24l Strike up the drum, cry ôCourage!ö; and away.
- (Flourish. March. Exeunt)
